Frequently Asked Questions

I started You, Yes! Coaching because I kept seeing incredibly talented women quietly talk themselves out of their own ideas, leadership, visibility, pricing, creativity, and ambition.
Women who were brilliant at what they did - but constantly second-guessing themselves. Waiting until they felt “ready.” Undercharging. Overgiving. Burning themselves out trying to prove they deserved to take up space.
And honestly, a lot of that felt very familiar to me.
I also grew up watching generations of smart, capable women carry enormous emotional labor while putting themselves last. So much of the messaging women receive - especially creatives and entrepreneurs - teaches us to shrink, apologize, stay agreeable, be realistic, not ask for too much, not be “difficult,” not be “too much.”
I wanted to help interrupt that pattern.
Before launching the business, I spent years working across business strategy, marketing, consulting, and creative industries while also studying and teaching improvisation professionally for more than 20 years. Eventually those worlds started overlapping in a way that felt really meaningful.
Because so much of what people actually need support with isn’t just business tactics. It’s learning how to: trust themselves, communicate clearly, navigate uncertainty, take up space, make decisions, recover from mistakes, adapt in real time,
and build something sustainable without completely abandoning themselves in the process. That’s the heart of my work.
A huge part of why I do this is because I care deeply about the ripple effect. When women and gender-expansive entrepreneurs build healthier, more sustainable businesses, it doesn’t just affect them individually. It impacts their families, collaborators, communities, clients, employees, creative work, and the environments around them.
And frankly, I think the world benefits when more people feel empowered to fully show up as themselves.
-
Nope! I work with people of all genders.
That said, a lot of my clients do happen to be women, creatives, and mission-driven professionals - partly because that’s who tends to find me organically and connect with the way I work.
Most of the people I work with are smart, capable humans who are very good at what they do, but are feeling overwhelmed, under-confident, overextended, or unsure how to move forward.
I also work with teams and organizations on communication, leadership, and collaboration via workshop facilitation.
-
Probably! If you’re open to the process and willing to engage honestly with where you are.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. In fact, most people don’t. You also don’t need to already feel confident, organized, polished, or “successful.” You do, however, need to feel ready for a change - and willing to step a bit out of your comfort zone.
A lot of my clients come to me because they’re in a transition point. Sometimes they’re growing. Sometimes they’re stuck. Sometimes they’re exhausted. Sometimes they know what they should do, but can’t seem to actually move.
That’s normal.
If you’re looking for someone to scream “scale harder!” at you while selling you a rigid formula, I’m probably not your person.
But if you want thoughtful strategy, honest feedback, clear communication, practical support, and help navigating both the logistical and human side of growth - there’s a pretty good chance we’d work well together.

My work sits at the intersection of business strategy, confidence, and forward movement.
I’m especially good at helping people untangle overwhelm, clarify direction, and make decisions without overthinking themselves into complete paralysis.
I also specialize in helping people communicate more effectively under pressure - whether that’s public speaking, interviews, presentations, networking, or simply learning how to sound more like themselves instead of a panicked corporate robot reading from a script.
And for teams and organizations, I lead workshops focused on collaboration, communication, and more while using applied improvisation techniques.
-
A few things.
First, I’m not particularly interested in hustle culture, fake urgency, or trying to turn everyone into a productivity bot with a color-coded morning routine and seventeen passive income streams.
I care much more about helping people build businesses and communication styles that are sustainable, profitable, human, and actually compatible with their real lives.
Second, my background is a pretty unusual combination of business strategy and over 20 years of professional improvisation and communication training. So a lot of my work lives in the space between strategy and human behavior.
Because the truth is, most people don’t struggle only because they lack information.
Usually the harder part is: making decisions, trusting themselves, communicating clearly, handling uncertainty, setting boundaries,
having difficult conversations,
and taking action before they feel perfectly ready. That’s the stuff I’m especially good at helping people navigate.
That said, I find the balance between business coaching and consulting. I don’t hand you a cookie-cutter strategy of best practices and leave. I also don’t spend our entire time together asking “how you feel?” and not addressing practical needs.Lastly, I also tend to be very adaptable. I’m not trying to force everyone into the same blueprint or “success formula.” Different people want different lives, businesses, priorities, energy levels, schedules, and definitions of success. I think coaching works best when it accounts for that.

Honestly, every session looks a little different.
Some days we’re deep in practical strategy - pricing, budgets, planning, difficult client situations, marketing ideas, interview or presentation prep, or figuring out how to make the business side of things less chaotic.
Other days we’re untangling the human side of running a business: overthinking, burnout, avoidance, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, fear, confidence, decision fatigue… all the fun stuff.
Usually it’s both.
My style is very collaborative and conversational. I’m not really a “here’s my twelve-step framework” kind of coach. I tend to work more like a strategic thought partner - someone who can help you zoom out, identify patterns, organize the mess a bit, and figure out what actually matters right now.
People are often surprised by how practical the sessions are, though. We usually leave with real next steps and concrete decisions, not just motivational pep talks and a notebook full of feelings.
-
Yes. Very much so.
I have a background in business and strategy, and I regularly help clients with pricing, budgeting, cash flow planning, project estimates, revenue strategy, forecasting, and figuring out whether something actually makes sense financially.
A lot of my clients are creatives or service providers who are excellent at the work itself, but were never really taught how to run the business side in a way that feels clear or sustainable. That’s a huge part of what we work on together.
Also - you do not need to already be “good with numbers” for us to work together. Part of my job is helping make those things feel less intimidating and more usable in real life.
-
Sometimes, yes.
I know coaching can be a significant investment, especially for creatives, freelancers, small business owners, and people in transition. I try to be thoughtful and human about that while also respecting the fact that this is my work and livelihood.
For longer coaching packages, payment plans are available.
I also occasionally offer shorter-term or lower-cost options, like focused strategy sessions, workshops, group offerings, or limited sliding-scale spots when my schedule allows.
That said, I don’t position coaching as something that only “serious” people can afford if they just hustle harder or sacrifice enough sleep. I think financial realities are real, and I never want someone to feel shamed for not being in the same place financially as someone else.
If working together feels aligned, I’m always happy to have an honest conversation about what might make sense - even if the answer right now is “not yet.”
